Welcome to the 4th Annual Miles on the Mohawk Road Race! The event offers a point-to-point 10 Mile race on the mostly flat Mohawk River bike path along the Mohawk River. It is scenic and PR worthy.

The event is directed by the experienced team at ARE Event Productions.

THE 29.3 CHALLENGE

Be amazing and give yourself an awesome spring goal!

Take on the Electric City 10K in March (Sat, 3/2), the Helderberg to Hudson 13.1M in April (Sat, 4/13), and then join us for the Miles on the Mohawk 10M in May (Sun, 5/26).

Those registering for the 29.3 Challenge receive a discount AND a super cool medal for the challenge.

Just $135 through 1/9 to run ALL THREE races. (After 1/9, the price is $150.)

LODGING

There are two hotel options available at Mohawk Harbor and a third option just outside of Mohawk Harbor.

  1. The Landing Hotel - Located 100 meters from the start/finish line.
  2. Courtyard Marriott - Located a quarter mile from the start/finish line.
  3. Homewood Suites - Located less than a mile from the start/finish line.

In addition, feel free to search for your own lodging in Schenectady, NY.

REGISTRATION INSURANCE

For an additional $12, you can insure your registration. This provides for a NO QUESTIONS ASKED refund of your entry with a deadline of Wed, 5/22. The request must be made as an email to director@milesonthemohawk.com by that date. This insurance expires at 11:59:59PM ET on Wed, 5/22 and refunds will not be granted for requests made after that time.

REFUND POLICY

There are no refunds. The only exception is if you purchase registration insurance (and then you are still subject to the deadline above). If you do NOT purchase registration insurance, your entry is non-refundable. If you still desire some method to recoup some of your entry and you do not purchase registration insurance, you can try to find someone to transfer your entry to, as described below.

REGISTRATION TRANSFERS

Transfers are permitted through Mon, May 13. A transfer is when you officially give your registration to someone else by providing them with a code generated by ZippyReg from your confirmation page, linked in your confirmation email. Learn more about transfers.

DEFERRALS

Deferrals are not permitted. Consider either purchasing registration insurance or transferring your entry to someone else (described above) if you are otherwise unable to attend.

VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION OPTION

For those unable to attend, you do have the option (after registering as an in-person registrant), to switch to be a virtual participant. This is done via your Registrant Portal (accessible from your Confirmation Email).

  1. Virtual participants have from Fri, 5/24 through Sun, 6/2 to complete their run.
  2. There is no restriction regarding the route or surface you choose.
  3. Submit your results via your Registrant Portal page linked in your Confirmation Email. (You will also receive an email race week with this link, or you can look it up here.)
  4. GETTING YOUR ITEMS
    Virtual participants may pick up their item(s) at the in-person packet pick-up. If unable to attend, those who switch to virtual by April 26, will have their items (ie. medal and if applicable, their optionally ordered hoodie) shipped to them at no fee. Those who switch on April 27 or after will only have their items shipped if they pay the $10 shipping fee, for which they will receive an email in late May with the option to do so.

PACKET PICK-UP

Packet pick-up (PPU) is where you receive your bib number and other items as applicable.

You are permitted to have others pick up for you. (Forward them the email you receive race week.)

PPU dates/locations TBA mid spring.

TIMING, RESULTS, PHOTOS

ARE Event Productions will be timing the race providing live splits from the course. Those exact split locations will be announced race week. Results will be sorted based on NET time. All (and only) OVERALL awards are based on GUN time.

AWARDS

Overall Awards - GUN Time Basis

There will be cash awards (amounts TBD) to the first 3 males to finish and to the first 3 females to finish, as well as the first 3 MASTERS male and female finishers .

There IS duplication. Age groups will include overall winners. The top Masters finishers CAN double(/triple)-dip in all possible ways.

Prize Money Time Bonus

Any male in the Top 3 finishing under 51:00 or female in the Top 3 finishing under 57:00 receives an additional $200.

Prize Money Event Record Bonus

An additional $200 to the FIRST finisher (by sex) setting a new course record.

Age Group Awards - NET Time Basis

To the top 3 male and female finishers in 14-u, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Medals

All finishers receive a finisher's medal.

START LOGISTICS

  • The race starts at Mabee Farm Historic Site (1100 Main St, Rotterdam Junction, NY 12150)
  • There is race day packet pick-up at the 10M start of the 10M. Please refer here for details.
  • There IS parking at the start. But there is NO event-provided transportation to the start AFTER the race begins. (You must arrange your own transport to get your car after the race.)
  • You are welcome to park at the finish and either use the bus (described below) or carpool to the start.
  • There is a bus service available for $10/person that drives you to the start line.
  • Buses will be departing periodically from Mohawk Harbor between 6:45AM and 7:30AM. NO bus service will be offered after 7:30AM.
  • Gear check will be provided at the start. All items must be placed in the clear bag that we provide, and will be transported to the finish for you.

ELITE ENTRY INFORMATION

We are offering complimentary entry at the event if you have met any time standard shown below in a race since January 1, 2022. Equivalent times from other race distances are acceptable. Contact us if you qualify for elite entry.

PETS & STROLLERS

Pets are not permitted on the Mohawk Harbor property (and not on the course). Strollers are not permitted on the course but spectators are welcome to have them.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The 10 Mile is a very fast, point-to-point course. It begins near Mabee Farm Historic site in Rotterdam Junction and finishes at Mohawk Harbor. The first mile is heading west, mostly on Route 5S, to connect you with the Erie Canal Bike Path. The final ~9 miles are a straight shot back to Mohawk Harbor on the bike path.

Please be sure to read this section concerning start line transportation and logistics.

ON COURSE TOILETS

In addition to ample portable toilets being available at Mohawk Harbor, at least one portable toilet will be available at every water stop.

WATER STOPS

IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND PREFERRED that you run with your own water carrying device. (ie. Bottle, pack, etc.) This will reduce both physical and litter waste, along with enable us to better allocate event personnel to activities that enhance your experience.

If you DO use a cup you receive on the course, PLEASE either throw it in a garbage can that is placed shortly after the water stop OR continue to run with it packed into your shorts, etc. until you reach the next water stop/garbage can.

On-course nutrition is not provided. If you will need supplements while running, you must provide your own.

COURSE CUT-OFF TIME/PACE

Our permits and related logistics require a cut-off time. Those falling behind 15:00 pace may be picked up in a golf cart or by a course sweep van.


10 MILE COURSE CUT-OFF TIME/PACE

There is a 2:30 cut-off time. (Pace of 15:00 per mile.)
